The Q3D Project

The objective of the Q3D project is the development of the most appropriate digital tools, aiming to provide surveillance and improvement services of the 3D printing procedure, in order to ensure the quality of the final 3D object. These objectives will be achieved by utilizing the existing technical know-how and the available infrastructures, while introducing pioneering technological methods through the collaboration of the partners of the CERTH, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering/ University of Ioannina, and the 3DLife company.

Project News

Dealing with patients with COVID-19 poses risks for health professionals and their protection is vital both for the safety of themselves and their immediate environment, as well as for avoiding the spread of the virus in the workplace. In addition, patients with COVID-19 hospitalized in Intensive Care Units often need to undergo very high-risk medical and nursing procedures.

In the context of “Q3D” project [T1EDK-04928], aiming to contribute substantially against the health crisis of Covid-19 pandemic, the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH) and the International Hellenic University (Departments of Production & Management Engineering and Management Science & Technology) in collaboration with "ANiMA - The 3D Printer Experts", "Thes3D", "Quick3Dparts" and "Retouch-Health Solutions" companies, delivered, today at 08/04/2020, to the University General Hospital AHEPA and to the General Hospital G.

The second plenary meeting of the Q3D project was held in Athens, Greece, on 22 November 2019, hosted at the premises of the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) 3DLife. The fundamental focus of this meeting was to discuss the current status and the progress of the project at the end of the 1st year.

The second plenary meeting of the Q3D project was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, on 17 May 2019, hosted at the premises of the project coordinator, the Information Technologies Institute (ITI), in the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). The main focus of this meeting was to discuss the current project status, and subsequently the advancements and the progress with regard to the previous meeting. Particularly, the Q3D partners presented the results of an in-depth research of the parameters that affect the 3D printing process, and need to be examined thoroughly.

The first kickoff meeting of the Q3D project was held in Ioannina, Greece, on 22 November 2018, hosted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering/ University of Ioannina (UIO). This meeting gave the opportunity to the consortium members to discuss thoroughly the scope of the project and its fundamental objectives, in order to set the grounds for the successful and regular project implementation.
